Ghanaian based fashion brand, Christie Brown focuses on creating for "that modern woman who seeks a true taste of Africa." Beginning in the heart of Ghana (the country’s capital of Accra), Christie Brown has been blending modernism and traditional African style since 2008. Named after her grandmother who was a seamstress, Aisha Obuobi wanted to spread the love and luxury of Ghana she found from watching her grandmother work. Her looks have also been featured in magazines such as Glamour, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue Italia and more.
The brand has already made history, being the only Ghanaian label selected for Paris Fashion Week 2010 to showcase in Arise L'Afrique- a- Porter. With the vision to put Ghanaian fashion on the map, Christie even had a little help from Beyonce. Ever heard of her? During her Mrs. Carter Tour, Beyonce’s dancers were rocking it out on stage in Christie Brown designed outfits.
Check out this quick BTS snippet of the brand’s workspace as they collaborated with the Ethical Fashion Initiative to spread the movement of luxury and sustainable clothing.
