Starting out in NYC in 2009 with its current location in Côte d’Ivoire as of 2012, Loza Maleombho is THE brand to look out for. Her collection is described as “the synergies, the contradictions and similarities between Ivorian tribal aesthetics and New York’s urban fashion.” Born in Brazil and raised between Africa and the United States, her cross-cultural identity is reflected in her designs. She takes high fashion and introduces cultural flair, where avant garde storytelling comes to life!
Her recent SS17 collection is giving me all the feels of a late ‘70s- early 80’s polaroid party. Or for you youths, Kim K and Kanye at their grandmother’s house vibes.
Queen B has also given the brand her blessing, by showcasing one of Loza’s designs in her “Formation” music video. I mean, what more do you need than Bey’s blessing??
